Barbour Pointe’s ownership model is unique for Savannah and Coastal Georgia and has played an essential role in the development of the community.  It provided an opportunity to locate home sites in and among the existing trees, maximize community green space and allow residents to more fully enjoy the natural beauty of the site and its surroundings.

ownership-tag The 38 acre site consists of 20 acres of coastal mash and 18 acres of upland buildable land.  The entire 20 acres of coastal marsh and 10 acres of buildable land will be placed in a conservation easement and owned in common by the Barbour Pointe Property Owners Association.  The remaining 8 acres contain the pervious roadway and 36 individual home sites.  Purchasers will own improvements “above the dirt” in condominium style ownership.

Within the home site envelopes, purchasers will be allowed to build homes ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 square feet and will have exclusive use rights in a zone approximately 15 ft outside the developed foot print to include area covered by driveways and sidewalks.  Outside the 15 ft zone, the property will be under the control of the Property Owners Association for the benefit of all residents.
